Issue overview

In 1949 Nerbini started a new series under the title "Mistero comics". The series came out in total 26 issues devided into three series:

Regular series

  • Issues 1 (September 11, 1949) to 17 (March 26, 1950).

The series has a dual numbering, one for the series and the other for the character. The serie printed: "Mandrake" by Franco Donatelli and G Fantoni (4, 8, 14), "The Phantom" (1, 5, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17), "Lone Ranger" (3, 7, 14) and "Radio Patrol" (as backup story), "Johnny Hazard" by Frank Robbins (as backup story), "Danny Hale by Jesse March (2, 6, 12), "Steve Canyon" by M Caniff (1-4, as backup story) and "Hara Sahie il fachiro" by ? (10). Two supplement album was released in this series: "I super-comics mensile" and "Comics Mistero" (April & March, 1950). The last one re-printed in the early 80s.

Albums

Five albums reprinted the stories from "Mistero Comics": "L'Uomo Mascerato" L'ombra che cammina (1, 5, 9), "Mandrake" Luomo del mistero (4, 8, 14), "Lone Ranger" Il Solitario della foresta (3, 7, 16), "Danny Hale" (2, 6, 12) and "L'uomo Mascherato" (11, 13, 15, 17). The two last issues may not have been printed.

Second series

  • Issues 1 (April 15, 1950) to 8 (August 25, 1950).

The serie printed: "The Phantom" by Lee Falk & Wilson McCoy and G Fantoni. (2, 4, 6, 8), "Lone Ranger" by C Flanders and G Fantoni (1, 3, 5, 7), "Mandrake" by Liliana Fantoni (1, as backup story), "Brick Bradford" (1-5, 6-8 as backup story) and "X 9" (1-7 as backup story).

Third series

  • Issue 1 (September 6, 1953).

The serie printed: "The Phantom" by Lee Falk and Wilson McCoy(1). Issue 1 announced the next "Mandrake" issue, but it was never published.
