Professor Quiz program
The "Professor Quiz radio program" was radio's first American quiz program. It was weekly broadcasted on CBS from May 9, 1936 to September 25, 1941 and - after an interruption due to the Second World War - on ABC from January 24, 1946 to July 17, 1948
It featured Professor Quiz, his wife Betty and his son, Professor Quiz Jr., with Robert Trout as main announcer. The quizmaster, Professor Quiz, was Dr. Craig Earle, a pseudonym for Arthur E. Baird.
The program's format pitted five people from the audience against each other for several rounds of questions until the winner received a cash prize. Sponsors included "George Washington Coffee", "Velvet Pipe" and "Cigarette Tobacco".
On the December 3, 1940 Lee Falk appears as a guest at the "Professor Quiz program" (then CBS network), with Budd Mayer, Marion Pierce and Max Kurtz.
