Indication of the release date

This issue was released without a publishing date on the cover or inside, but is likely released in the summer of 1959.

Ads

Other Comic Books

This issue has an ad for 68 pages issues with "The Phantom" and "Mandrake the Magician".

Stamps

The Mandrake issue has an ad from Broadway Approvals for a start package for collecting stamps and the Micromodel Kits, lot W7 - also used for the Mandrake issue 6.

The W7 lot is identical to the "Tarzan Adventures" lot Y6 used for the July 1959 issues.

Ellisdons

The "Novelty bargains from Ellisdons" ad is difficult to date, and the layout of the catalog itself was used for several years in the fifties. The advertisement mentions "Our new store".

An identical advertisement has also been used in other comic books, like Miller's "Young Eagle" #55 and "Wyatt Earp" #43.

What is interesting is that the "Young Eagle" issue has an ad for the 1959 annuals (released December 1958) and the "Wyatt Earp" the 1957 annuals (released December 1956).
