Serieförlaget released the first issue of the "Serietidningen Tarzan" series on September 26, 1951. The magazine was released every other Wednesday until December 29, 1954. A total of 85 issues were released, with the issue 16-17/1953 as a double issue. From issue 21/1952 the magazine dropped the prefix ''Serietidningen'' <small>(The comic book)</small> on the cover and the magazin title became "Tarzan". The last issue has the title "Tarzan med Stjärnmagasinet" before the magazine became "[[Stjärnmagasinet]] med Tarzan".
