Fantomen (Originally Serietidningen Fantomen and since (Fantomen 20/1990) the formal full name is Lee Falk's Fantomen) is the name of the Swedish comic book dedicated to "The Phantom", published regularly since 1950.

History

General

The popularity of the comic has led the publishers to create new stories exclusively for Fantomen since 1963. The creators who have created these stories have been nick-named "Team Fantomen".

Fantomen has been the template for many similar publications in other countries, for example in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Estonia and Russia. The cooperation has increased in recent years and since the 1990's, Fantomen is co-produced with Fantomet in Norway and Mustanaamio in Finland, meaning that the contents of the issues are basically the same, except for the editorial pages. Only a handful of issues published since the co-production began has had any major differences compared to their counterparts in the other countries.
