In 1952, the weekly series called "Albo Traguardo" was released in Italy by the editor Adriana, a publishing Company which became named Aurelia in 1953.

History

The first 24 issues of Albo Traguardo was devoted to "L'Uomo Mascherato" (The Phantom)" by Lee Falk and Wilsom McCoy and "Mandrake" by Lee Falk and Phil Davis. With the impair numbering for "L'Uomo Mascherato" and the pair numbering for "Mandrake".

Starting with issue 25 some issues became dedicated also to other characters: "Ciclone el West" (issues 25, 29 and 33); "Gordon" (Flash Gordon) by Mac Raboy and Dan Barry (issues 26, 30, 34, 38 and 42); "Cisco Kid" by José Luis Salinas (issues 37, 41, 45, 49 and 53) and "Jim della Jungla" (Jungle Jim) by Paul Norris (issues 46, 50 and 54).

In addition also: "Il sergente Pat di Radio Patuglia" by Eddie Sullivan and Charlie Schmidt and pages with "Hubert" by Dick Wingert.

Nouva series

From issue 23 "Albo Traguardo" started with dual numbering. The first for the "Albo Traguardo" series and the second for the individual characters inside: Albo Traguardo #24 have the sub numbering (Mandrake) Nouva serie #1, the next have the sub numbering (Mandrake) Nouva serie #2 and on.

Note: The series ended with issue 55 (July 21, 1953), although #55 announced the next issue: Albo Traguardo #52 - (Mandrake) Nouva serie #8. The unfinished stories in the "Albo Traguardo" series continued in the new Albo Furore series.

Collana grandi personaggi

In May 1953 there was an album with the title "Collana grandi personaggi", reprinting issues 24, 28, 32 and 36.
