In 1952, the weekly series called "Albo Traguardo" was released in Italy by the editor Adriana, a publishing Company which became named Aurelia in 1953. The series was printed with a vertical format; the first 24 issues of publishing the impair numbering was devoted to the Phantom and the pair numbering for Mandrake. Issue 23 started with dual numbering on the cover, the first for the series and the second for the figure inside; Albo Traguardo #24 have the sub numbering Nouva serie #1; Albo Traguardo #28 have the sub numbering Nouva serie #2 and on. Starting with issue 25 some issues were also devoted to Flash Gordon, Jungle Jim, Ciclone el West and Cisco Kid. Issue 55 announced #56 with Mandrake but the final number of the whole series was issue #55.

The Mandrake stories continued with the new Albo Furore series.

In May 1953 there was an album with the title "Collana grandi personaggi", reprinting issues 24, 28, 32 and 36.
