Pulgarcito

Pulgarcito was a comic book series published by Editorial Ercilla in Chile.

History

908 issues of "Pulgarcito" were released between 1937 and 1955, initially in a 10 pages format, becoming 16 pages after four publishing years.

It was consisted of full colour pages featuring Sundays pages, mainly from “King Features Syndicate” with comics like “The Phantom”, “Flash Gordon” (nicknamed “Roldán el Temerario”), “Brick Bradford” , “King of the Police Mounted”, “Mandrake the Magician”, "Prince Valiant", "Henry", "Popeye" and also classical from others publisging Syndicates too, such as "Mickey Mouse".

It is said to have been at first printed in the USA before to be fully printed in Santiago de Chile until the bankruptcy of this publishing house (April 25, 1942). The series was later taken over by Editorial Zig-Zag until 1955.

The Mandrake material was released just two months after its original American release.
