"Minaccia microscopia" is an Italian made Mandrake story from 1967.
- For the reference book Profumo d'inchiostro, the story is written by Giovanni Fiorentini and the drawing results from a collaboration between Dino Leonetti, Nanni Silvestrini and Mario Pedrazzi. The Fumetto 115 study cites the latter two but not Dino Leonetti...

layout
The first page follows a geometric pattern as seen if one create an equilateral square from the top of the drawing. From the corners, draws lines and where these intersect, draw a circle that touches the sides. The prosess is repeated for the bottom of the drawing.
Mandrake is presented and drawn in an everyday situation in the upper triangle in the top circle, and a telephone suggests that something is about to happen. In the area where the circles overlap, Mandrake is shown in close-up while the mysterious man making the call is shown with his back to him and hidden in shadows. The buzz in the circle is that the phone rings and the main character talks to a mysterious man.
The second circle builds on where the circles overlap and expands by introducing Lothar as the helper and Narda who asks questions that drive the story forward.
The drawings are composed to follow the geometric lines and where the lines cross there are central points in the panels.
