The first issue of Karl-Alfred was publicated in January 1946. This weekly magazine had a large format, changing to a comic book format in 1953. Karl-Alfred had several KFS comics, among them; "Popeye", "Rip Kirby", "Mandrake", "Blixt Gordon", "Prins Valiant", "Garth", "Mästerdetektiven X-9" och "Pär och Polly".
