Club Anni Trenta
Club Anni Trenta ("Club of the Thirties") was an Italian publishing company devoted to reprint classical comics.
History
It was founded in 1969 by two collectors Ernesto Traverso and Silvano Scotto.
Amongst their "Golden age reprinting", always edited with good cares and with great respect for the original Italian publications – such as the old ones from Nerbini and other Italian editors – were characters like "L'Uomo Mascherato"," Rip Kirby" "Secret Agent X-9", "Johnny Hazard", "Mandrake the Magician" "Brick Bradford", "Flash Gordon", "Lil' Abner", "Blondie", "Tillie the Toiler".
The publications were available by subscription orders and some of them were printed in few copies, what may explain why they are rather hard to find years later.
In 1977, the two original publishers finally ended their collaboration. Silvano Scotto still working with the label until 1998 "Club Anni Trenta" when a second club was created apart under the name of "Nuovo Club Anni Trenta" ("New Club of the Thirties") but it ceased activities after one year, this last one having also released Phantom stories.
It is worthy to notice that a book of 268 pages, entitled "Un’avventura Lunga Trent’Anni – 1968 1998" ("An 30 years adventure"), written by Gabriella Càlisto, wife of Silvano Scotto, was published in 1997 by the Club Anni Trenta Editions to trace the whole history of the Club.
