Press Agencias S.A. (PASA) was a publisher / distributor society based in Cracas, Venezuela.
Biography
"Press Agencias S.A." has been founded in December 1941 as a book and magazine publisher. As far as comics are concerned, a "Jim de la Selva" ("Jungle Jim") issue was published in 1953 by "Press Agencias S.A." (issue #1, retaken - in Spanish - the cover and the contents "Four Color" #490 released the same year by "Dell Publishing").
In the sixties, several series were edited by "Press Agencias S.A.": "Principe Valiente" ("Prince Valiant") (at least 13 issues), "El Fantasma" ("The Phantom") (17 issues), "Aventuras De Aguilucho" ("Tim Tyler's Luck") (at 11 least issues) and "Mandrake el mago" ("Mandrake the Magician" (at least 9 issues but maybe more). These series were exactly similar to "Lord Cochrane" in Santiago, Chile. According "the Phantom fan" web site (see: [1]), later editions in the series were published by "Editorial Lord Cochrane". In such a case, the Press Agencias' role would have been that of a simple distributor and the only difference with the original chilian publications was the presence of the Pasa logo on the front cover (saying "distribuido por Pasa, marca de seriedad y buen gusto" = "distributed by Pasa, a brand of seriousness and good taste") without the various prices for foreign countries.
