==Note==
The comics by Young's Merchandising Company have noe date printed on the covers or inside, which causes collectors to have trouble dating them properly. The Mandrake series was a monthly publication and since the series ended in 1963 ''(with #26)'' the date for #9 brings us 15 months back in time, early 1962 or late 1961.

According to [https://ausreprints.net AusReprints] the same promotion page in this issue also are printed in "The Raven" #7 and in "The Panther" #54 and #55. "The Panther" issues are believed to have been printed in 1961 ''(October and November)'', while "The Raven" issues are believed to have been printed in 1957. A problem with the dating of "The Raven" series is that the Mandrake strip used in the promotion page is from "[[The Dollmaker]]" ''(strip of February 2, 1959)'', the story in the [[Mandrake the Magician 10 (Young's Merchandising)|Mandrake the Magician #10]].

Note

The comics by Young's Merchandising Company have noe date printed on the covers or inside, which causes collectors to have trouble dating them properly. The Mandrake series was a monthly publication and since the series ended in 1963 (with #26) the date for #9 brings us 15 months back in time, early 1962 or late 1961.

According to AusReprints the same promotion page in this issue also are printed in "The Raven" #7 and in "The Panther" #54 and #55. "The Panther" issues are believed to have been printed in 1961 (October and November), while "The Raven" issues are believed to have been printed in 1957. A problem with the dating of "The Raven" series is that the Mandrake strip used in the promotion page is from "The Dollmaker" (strip of February 2, 1959), the story in the Mandrake the Magician #10.
