W. C. Fields was a humorous comics strip, syndicated by L.A. Times Syndicate, that ran during the years 1982 and 1983. It was based on the famous Hollywood movies comedian.

It was created by Frank Smith, and Jim Smart (Sunday pages from October 31, 1982 to July 24, 1983 and dailies from 1982 to June 25, 1983) before to be taken over by Ronald J. Fields and Fred Fredericks (Sunday pages on July 31 and August 7, 1983 - just two weeks - and dailies from June 27, 1983 to August 18, 1983)

  • It’s worth to notice that Ronald J. Fields was the grandson of the real W. C. Fields.
