Samim Utkun is a Turkish cover artist.

Biography

After finishing his primary school (in Adanda and Liseyi, Balıkesir) Samim Utkun moved with his family to Istanbul. Ha started his career with caricatures and started to work as a professional illustrator for Türkiye Yayınevi in 1947. Returning from the Korean War he worked in newspapers like "Demokrat İzmir", "Tercüman" and "Yeni Asır". From 1955 he start working for Ceylan Yayınevi as cover artist on: "Teksas", "Tommiks", "Kinova", "Zagor", "Ceylan", "Tim", "Kit Taylor", "Atlı Karınca", "Superman", "Akbulut Kaan" and on. He also made cover artwork for popular detective pocketbooks in the 1950s, and even drew some special adventures for the "Kinova" series.

In the 1980s he started to work for "İhlas Grubu" and retired in 1994.
