"Mistero", "Mistero!" and "Mistero Comics" were series of "Mandrake" published by the Italian editor Mario Nerbini from 1947 to 1950.

Several classical comics - such as [[The Phantom]], Tim Tyler's Luck, The Lone Ranger, Brick Bradford, Secret Agent X9, Steve Canyon and of course "Mandrake" - were published in these series, each issue being consacred to only one of them.

The first series was weekly released in 1947, in a 20, 5 x 29 cms format, each issue having only 12 pages including the cover. The covers had an attractive color presentation when the inside contents was printed in black and white.
The "Mistero" series came out in total 101 issues devided into three series:

The "Mistero" series started with the newspaper sized "L'Italo Americano Illustrato" December 8, 1946. In the beginning the weekly magazine was bilingual, with Italian and English language. From #17 ''(March 30, 1947)'' the magazine changed name to "Mistero" - ''settimanale italiano-americano di racconti illustrati''. It printed various US and Italian series as: "And so They Were... Never Married)" by Cliff Sterrett ''(14-16)'', "Belles and Wedding Bells and then Were Maried" by Cliff Sterrett ''(13-16)'', "Captain Easy" by Walter Scott ''(22-24)'', "Difendi l'amor mio" by Maria Laura Segrè & Nicolò ''(1-19)'', "Dr Wobes" by Elliot Caplin & J N McArdie ''(7-20, 24-28)'', "Il distintissmo signore di Lino" by ? At the back cover of issue 47 one find a small mystery. There are an advertice for '''Nouva Collezione Nerbini - "Albi Mistero"'''; Uomo Mascherato (issues 1-12), Mandrake (issues 7-9) and Cino e Franco (issues 13-15). And in issue 3 from 1948 there are the same advertice, but now with the Mandrake titles in issues 7-13. Looking at titles they are identical with the Mistero titles below.

The issues from the "Mistero" #29 to "Nuovo serie - Mistero!" #44 were reprinted into 23 albums by dr Giuseppe Cartoni (?): "Mandrake" ''(8 issues)'' , "The Phantom" ''(14 issues)'' and "Tim Tyler's Luck" ''(1 issue)''.
Two albums retaking stories already published in the first and second series were also published but in bigger format (21.5 x 31.5 cm) and without mention of the series Mistero, and they have different covers:

Strangly it is printed ''Anno III'' on the covers, same as issues from 1948 !

The New series printed stories with: "The Phantom" by G Fantoni (1-3, 7-9, 13-15, 19-21, 25-27, 31-39, 43-44), "Mandrake" by Phil Davis (4-6, edited), Roberto Lemmi (10-12), A Galleppini (16-18, 22-24, 28-30) and Franco Donatelli (40-42), "Johnny Hazard" by Frank Robbins (1-2), "Petrosino" by F Vichi (1, 3-6, 7-9), "La slida di Carlos" by G Toppi (10-17), "Gli evasi delle Guyana" by G Scudellari (18-28), "Toni il saltimanco" by G Vitelli (29-33), and "Una tragedia sui ghiacci" by G Vitelli (33). The "Nuovo serie - Mistero" was re-printed by Nerbini in about 1978.
