Mistero, Mistero! and Mistero Comics were series of "Mandrake" published by the Italian editor Mario Nerbini from 1947 to 1950. Several classical comics - such as The Phantom, Tim Tyler's Luck, The Lone Ranger, Brick Bradford, Secret Agent X9, Steve Canyon and of course "Mandrake" - were published in these series, each issue being consacred to only one of them.

Mistero

The first series was weekly released in 1947, in a 20, 5 x 29 cms format, each issue having only 12 pages including the cover. The covers had an attractive color presentation when the inside contents was printed in black and white.

Regular series

Second series

In 1948 the magazine restart the numbering for the series. The 3 first issues ended the Mandrake story "Il lupo umano". The next 3 issues printed a 3 part Phantom story by Guido Fantoni, before the "Mistero" series ended.

The Mandrake stories from "Mistero" first and second series were re-released in 1949 by Nerbini in his Albi Economici Nerbini series.

Third series

Also known as Mistero! - nuova series. A total of 44 albums were published in 1948, of which 18 were dedicated to "Mandrake". The other albums were dedicated to The Phantom. The three first issues with Mandrake was edited material made by Phil Davis. The other Mandrake material was Italian, made by Roberto Lemmi, Aurelio Galleppini and Franco Donatelli.

All issues from the third series, "Mistero!", was reprinted in the '70s.
