The Mandrake the Magician Magic Kit was released by Transogram Company in 1949.

Full name of the product : "Mandrake The Magician Magic Kit. Magic Made Easy For Children. A Fascinating Collection of Outstanding Magic Tricks... A Transogram "Gold Medal" Toy....King Features Syndicate 1949".

Up to 1957 there have been several different versions of this Magic Kit in three different sizes (40 x 24 x 5(6) cm; 44 x 29 x 6 cm; 36 x 26 x 3,5cm). The content varies slightly between the different productions The box can be carrid like a suitcase, having a metal handle and clips. It contains about 29 magic tricks with an instruction sheet to show how the tricks have to be accomplished. The inside has a similar color picture than the one featured on the outside container.

The instruction sheet indicates that 3 factories made the toy : Easton, Pennsylvania, Sturgis, Michigan and Sikeston, Missouri.
