History

In 1929 Mondadori launched I libri gialli, a series of mystery/crime novels. The series, named after their yellow cover background, changed title to Il Giallo Mondadori in 1946. The title is a reference to the color of the cover background. In 1946 the title of the series was changed to Il Giallo Mondadori. The series had a weekly periodicity for decades, while currently is published every fifteen days.
