In 1974 Mount Everest Mint struck six different ingots with comic characters in the series Heroes of the Comics. These artbars featuring: "Flash Gordon"; "Mandrake the Magician"; "The Phantom"; "Superman"; "Wonder Woman"; "Batman and Robin".

The "Heroes of the Comics" was struck in two different versions: a limited edition in one troy ounce .999 fine silver and a limited edition in solid bronze.

The mintage for the silver version was: 2300 for "The Phantom", "Mandrake the Magician", "Superman" and "Batman and Robin"; 1600 for "Flash Gordon" and only 300 for "Wonder Woman".

The ingots was sold in a sealed package and could be collected into a special case.
