El Bravo is a daily Spanish language newspaper published in the city of Heroica Matamoros (State of Tamaulipas) in northerneastern Mexico. The town is on the southern bank of the Rio Grande, directly across the border from Brownsville, Texas, United States of America.

The newspaper was founded in 1951 and since is the leading newspaper in northeastern Mexico and the Texas Valley.

The Mandrake" Sunday strip were featured in the Sunday edition of "El Bravo" from 1975 to 1977 (more precise dates remaining to be determined).

Amongst other comics published in the ""El Bravo" Sunday edition were also such classical comics as "Popeye", "Brick Bradford", "Mickey Mouse", "Mr. Abernathy", "Prince Valiant" and "The Phantom".
