History

"Les Editions Héritage" started publishing various coloring books, mostly of various figures from Radio-Canada. From 1968 to 1987 the publisher own the rights to French translation and distribution of various publications of Marvel Comics, DC Comics.

Mandrake

In January 1975 "Les Editions Héritage" started their Le Fantôme magazine, reprinting material from the US Phantom comic books published by Gold Key, King and Charlton Comics. Unlike the US versions however, the Canadian series was in black/white. The series ended with issue 24 in December, 1977 .Unsold copies of the issues were later glued together with a new outside cover and collected as albums.

The material for the six Mandrake stories in this series came from the Phantom and Flash Gordon series from 1967 by King Comics.
