Issue overview

Regular series

The first 22 issues of Albo Traguardo was devoted to "L'Uomo Mascherato" (The Phantom) by Lee Falk and Wilson McCoy and "Mandrake" by Lee Falk and Phil Davis. With the impair numbering for "L'Uomo Mascherato" and the pair numbering for "Mandrake".

Albo Traguardo - Nouva serie

From issue 23 "Albo Traguardo" started with dual numbering. The first for the "Albo Traguardo" series and the second for the individual characters inside: Albo Traguardo #24 have the sub numbering Mandrake - Nouva serie #1, the next "Mandrake" issue have the sub numbering Mandrake - Nouva serie #2 and on. Starting with issue 25 some issues became dedicated also to other characters: "Ciclone del West" (issues 25, 29 and 33); "Gordon" (Flash Gordon) by Mac Raboy and Dan Barry (issues 26, 30, 34, 38 and 42); "Cisco Kid" by José Luis Salinas (issues 37, 41, 45, 49 and 53) and "Jim della Jungla" (Jungle Jim) by Paul Norris (issues 46, 50 and 54). In addition also in "Albo Traguardo": "Il sergente Pat di Radio Patuglia" by Eddie Sullivan and Charlie Schmidt and pages with "Hubert" by Dick Wingert.

Note: The series ended with issue 55 (July 21, 1953), although #55 announced the next issue: Albo Traguardo #56 - Mandrake - Nouva serie #9. The unfinished stories in the "Albo Traguardo" series continued in the new Albo Furore series.

Albums

At least two albums were released in May 1953 under the title Collana grandi personaggi: "Uomo Mascherato" #1 (reprint of 23, 27 and 31) and "Mandrake" #1 (reprint of 24, 28, 32 and 36).

Note

With the new series (Nouva serie) the publisher started promoting their back issues. If one bought the first eleven issues with "L'Uomo Mascherato" or "Mandrake" for Lire 300 the buyer received a badger with "The Phantom" or "Mandrake". A similar badge was made for "Ciclone" series. Theese badges were also for sale for Lire 100. A Club Card was printed on the back cover of the early issues of the new series. The back covers later on also served as collections of stickers: "Raccolta Traguardo" and "Album dello sport".
